WordPress is web software you can use to create a beautiful website or blog. We like to say that WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time. The core software is built by hundreds of community volunteers, and when you’re ready for more there are thousands of plugins and themes available to transform your site into almost anything you can imagine.
The fourteenth release of the CMS is now available. WordPress 3.1 “Reinhardt” is named in honor of the jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt.
WordPress core developers share a love of jazz music, and all their major releases are named in honor of jazz musicians they personally admire. Here’s a list of releases and the musicians they were named for.

• Custom Header and Custom Background APIs.
• A lighter admin color scheme to increase accessibility and put the focus more squarely on your content.
